MIAMI, FL (November 28, 2014) – L.E.A.D. Nation and the South Florida Youth Summit (SFYS) is pleased to announce its participation in #GivingTuesday. #GivingTuesday is internationally known as the Tuesday after Cyber Monday which follows Black Friday.

Millions of people spend the immediate days following Thanksgiving Day waiting in long lines to get special low prices and deals on holiday gifts. In fact, reports have shown that Black Friday alone garners over $50 billion annually(1) with Cyber Monday reaching as much as $1.735 billion in 2013(2).

With #GivingTuesday on the rise, not-for-profit organizations, including L.E.A.D. Nation and the South Florida Youth Summit is asking you to take a moment and give back to a worthy cause. Funds raised on #GivingTuesday will directly benefit the South Florida Youth Summit, an annual 2-day, free, high impact youth conference that brings youth, parents, community leaders, and organizations in Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach Counties together for a series of events that encourage youth to bridge the gap between themselves and the their communities.

“The South Florida Youth Summit has become a highly anticipated event for youth in South Florida. It provides dialog on relevant youth issues, exposure to career choices, leadership training, and inspiration to help our youth become better citizens and better people. Keeping it free is a primary goal of our planning committee. Whether it’s a $5 or $50 contribution, every little bit helps,” says Whitney Rawls, co-founder of the summit.

Scheduled for March 2015, the South Florida Youth Summit is in its final planning stages and will feature Dr. Steve Perry, educator, noted author, speaker and Contributor for CNN and MSNBC.
